I hope your school year is off to a roaring start. I know that sometimes PTA can be a bit overwhelming and there can be a lot to learn. Take advantage of everything that PTA has to offer to help strengthen your unit and you as a PTA leader.
- Attend your monthly council meetings.
- Go to capta.org and sign up as a leader. Here you will find a lot of great ideas for running your PTA along with information on State PTA’s Scholarship and Grants Program, the Leaders Welcome Packet, the Toolkit (all the forms you need to run your PTA, job descriptions for each position and more)
- Attend trainings
- Go to pta.org and visit the National PTA website to learn more about the programs they offer. Do you know they have a million dollars in grants to award.
- Attend the State PTA Convention. Get great fundraising and program ideas in the exhibit hall and attend great workshops.
- 31ST District Awards – Are you doing great things for your school? Let us know by applying for our awards.
- Attend District events. We hold trainings, but also Bunco, Council vs. Council, and Donuts with the District as informal events that you can just come and have fun.
- Contact the District Office – If you have a question, call the office. If Ana Ruth cannot answer it, she will point you in the right direction.
PTA has a lot of great resources, tap into them. It will make you more confident in your role as a PTA leader and give you more ideas and information to bring back to your school.
